Organise a fundraising stall

There are many different stalls you can organise, depending on where you live, your availability and your interests. You can organise stalls at local markets, community festivals or vegan festivals, as well as at your school or workplace. You can sell TOP merchandise, adoptions, secondhand goods, handmade crafts, pot plants - and more!

Thanks for offering to organise a fundraising stall for The Orangutan Project. Stalls are one of the best ways to help us raise funds and awareness, and they're a great way to meet likeminded people.

Steps to organising a fundraising stall

1. Decide where you'd like to have a stall (see ideas below) - book a chat with the Volunteers Fundraising Manager (VFM) if you're not sure where to start
2. Research markets, community festivals, and expos that are being held in your local community or region
3. Contact providers such as local government and market organisers to enquire about availability, costs and stall size
4. If the stall fee is less than $50, you can go ahead and book it
5. Check with the Volunteers Fundraising Manager if the stall is more than $50
6. Fill out the Reimbursement Form so we can reimburse you for the stall fees
7. If you're running a merchandise stall, order merchandise and materials for your stall via the Volunteers Fundraising Manager (note: you don't need to pay for the merchandise in advance)
8. Review the Fundraising Stall Checklists (below) and print out all the materials you need
9. Bump in (set up) your stall at the time appointed by the organiser
10. Keep a record of your sales using the Merchandise Sales Tally Sheet
11. Bump out (pack away) your stall neatly at the end of the event
12. Transfer the raised amount to the Triodos Bank account as per How to Bank Funds within three working days and email the details to the Volunteers Fundraising Manager

Fundraising stall ideas

1. Local market such as farmers market, handmade market or Christmas market
2. Community festivals run by local councils (they often provide a free stall if you run a children's activity)
3. Vegan markets and festivals
4. Animal lovers festivals
5. Second hand markets / car boot markets
6. University popup markets
7. Your workplace - e.g. sell merchandise, second hand goods, vegan chocolates at work
8. Your school - e.g. bake sale, ice creams in summer, merchandise stall
