Mary and Jojo are extra special APE Achievers of the month, and we are so excited to share this amazing news with you!
Mary settling into their new home on the forested pre-release island
Mary and Jojo have taken the next big step in their journey back to the wild. They have now arrived at the forested pre-release island, the final stage of their rehabilitation!
They headed to the island at the beginning of October, and we are happy to report that they are loving their new home!
Both girls eagerly left their transport crates and immediately began exploring. They’ve also been reunited with their pal Bonti who found them as soon as they arrived!
The girls now have much more freedom and independence on the island. They are working hard to sharpen their forest skills, like building nests and foraging for food. Mary especially loves travelling and foraging high up in the canopy.
To ensure they stay safe in the trees, they’re still receiving supplemental food via a pulley system—no need to come down to the ground!
Jojo settling into their new home on the forested pre-release island
Mary and Jojo were both star students at our BORA rescue centre, spending lots of time together in Jungle School developing their jungle skills.
And now, they are SO close to their final destination, their true forest home!
Thank you SO MUCH to all of you, our wonderful supporters and adopters, for making this journey possible for Mary and Jojo. They are one step closer to their new life in the wild, and it’s all thanks to your generosity.
